Mepal Anaerobic Digester

Mepal is the largest single anaerobic digester plant in the UK, with a thermal capacity of 10 MW and an electrical capacity of 14MW. It runs 4 digesters and 4 post digesters with the main feedstock being maize, processing more than 300,000 tonnes per annum.

We were the mechanical contractors on this project, installing structural steel, plastic, carbon and stainless steel pipe, various items of plant and control gear.

We provided expert advice to ensure the final solution produced the best possible results for the client, identifying issues at the design stage to prevent a costly rework. The plant was commissioned on time to meet tariff requirements.
